  1. Bernie Sanders is totally correct and he is not a nutcase.  He is not bought and paid for by anyone, and he understands and is one the right side of the major issues in American politics.  Bravo Bernie, you are one of the only people I would actually send money to anymore.  You and Liz Warren.

That's not a bad idea and and effective maximum wage could be implemented by a steep progressive tax where the rates at the top end are up around 70-90% when someone is making levels of income, any income, earnings or capital gains, in the 10s or millions and billions ... that is too much because it corrupts the political process.

I am not sure about that, at least outside the eyes of the law.  People by nature are unequal and have different talents.  Someone who contributes a lot to everyone else deserves to be rewarded ... the thing we are doing wrong is that we have essentially removed the element of merit in how we do taxes and compensate people. Like how we compensate actors and musicians.  I love stories and music as much as anyone else, but just because these folks can charge millions of people for their world where you and I can only charge the company we work for or a few others ... to me that means they should pay taxes differently. But some people do amazing works and they should be rewarded, and other people are criminals or can barely do anything productive and I don't think it is fair or will lead to anything good to pretend all are equal, they are not.   Compensation and taxes are like investments, we want to invest in good areas, but we do have a responsibility to keep anyone from falling into despair, sickness, ignorance and death ... this is what we are ignoring. Another thing that is complicated is children.  We cannot breed like animals any longer, we need to control our numbers, and do it in a fair way that will allow the children the best chances for success and society the best chances to gain from the children we do have.
