  1. What else is any society anywhere going to do when confronted by something of the level of evil as radical Islam.  I am fine with killing and destroying any threat to civilization in the world.  Especially when we can do it with things like bombs and drones.

  2. ***** I disagree with you.  I'll grant that we aggravated things, but what created radical Islam was lots and lots of oil money in a very unsophisticated low tech area where the oligarchs, mullahs, sheiks and sultans have ruled for hundreds of years through violence and terror.  This contemporary threat is the outcome of that.  Did the US Britain, Israel and the West stir them up a bit, sure, but this is a fundamentally corrupt Non-Western society that is at odds with the very values we hold dear.  We are losing our own values because our super powerful wealthy people are being seduced by these powerful people in other parts of the world that they feel have more power than they do as Americans.  This is a threat that even if we did create, we still have to fight it and win.  I'm just saying we need to do it in a sensible, fair, clean way that does not allow the Miitary Industrial Complex to run the country.

In America and the West we ALL need to come to an educated point where we compromise between doing two very very important functions in the world - taking care of people in an uncompromising way - possibly by extending the rights like FDR described AND fighting tyranny and barbarism in the world.  The world is too small to pretend we can just ignore ISIS, the Chinese government, the Russian government and the drug cartels on our very border.  We need a plan, and we need a way to make sure that corporations that do defense work do not steal from the government  or take over the rest of the economy such as buying media, communication and health care companies.
