  2. Is there a connection between how we forget things in real life and how when we wake up we are so quick to forget our dreams? It is like a separate track in my head. I think, oh, I need something from the other room, and then while I am walking to the room I start thinking about something else and boom, my destination is gone. I can usually get it back if I spend some time stopping and thinking, or return to the same place I just came from and it will job my memory. Or another one. I order something from Amazon. And then it comes in 2-3 days. I get a box and wonder what is inside it. Sometimes I remember, sometimes not before I open it. Then late when I see the box I sometimes forget what was in it. I do order a lot of stuff from Amazon though.

  3. If I stop for a break a lot of times I won't start up again. Once I get going on something I am pretty determined ... it's getting to that point that is hard unless there is a deadline or bad consequence.

  6. For me a lot of this has to do with sleep. I often get tired, and thus kind of lazy. Like I think I have the general gist of something, but I am not really paying 100% attention. It is attention and mindfulness. I realized this when I would write notes to myself, and realized I have to be more complete because I could not tell what it was I was trying to note. Like a name, or a phone number with no name. I realized I have to pay attention to what I am doing all the time. That is sometimes hard to do with emotional, triggered or not enough sleep.

  8. Writing an essay is an almost mechanical process. First, you need a thesis. How do you feel about your subject? Then, figure out why, or what facts lead you to have that feelings. Then, write your essay as follows. As my English 1A professor at Foothill College, Prof. Ron Ingalls, may he rest in peace, told us in the 1980's ... First, tell them what you are going to tell them. ( first paragraph ) Second, tell them. ( body of essay ) Third, tell them what you told them. ( last paragraph )

  10. I find some interesting things to think about in your videos, but the blanket unqualified statement at 0:30 - "the behavior itself doesn't equate to mental illness". First, in the flow of your video essay here, this seems tacked on for no reason, and a nothing argument, or statement. You can't just make a statement like that because it demands the whole rest of the video as an explanation, and your video is not about that. I think a lot of people would agree that anyone who as you put it, engages in mass murder, that all the reasons should very well and appropriately be lumped under some kind of mental illness. From what you say later it seems the very definition of mental illness is a very political thing that overrides the medical science. So what is the use of using these terms to split hairs? The meaning gets lost and you end up basically pushing the viewer to accept what you say on grounds of authority, with no real reason or gain from this model or reality.

  11.  @SweetStuffOnMonarchLane  I noticed that I was missing stuff while watching TV, and that I had mostly watched most TV just partially paying attention, because it was easy. So either I the plots have gotten more complex, or the people speak faster, or reading subtitles which I have on all the time just by habit and integrating all the input together is overload, or just more than I care to devote. Is there any commonality to what you think about while you are in LaLa Land?

  12. I can't imagine even a few days of that. I hope you are OK. All the other developed countries have social support systems for families and young children ... except the greatest country in the world.
