Americans don't seem to understand this because all the focus on is what they hear over and over that is negative. First, a lot of our thinking is based against some kind of imaginary perfect world, and not taking into account what the world really is here and now, today.

  3. Nicolas Nassin Taleb is a smart, and smart mouthed rhetoritician - but he has since10-7 come out as a steadfast supporter of Islam and Muslims and the Palestinians. That means that his culture as a kid has been what has defined his world view, so it is biased in a very harmful and disgusting way.

  4. MacGregor just disagrees with the direction of the US - period. I don't think the war in Ukraine was a good thing, but it was about keeping Russia at a distance from the EU in order to keep America in as number one trading partner. If Russia made inroads into the EU eventually the US would be cut out. That is what I think, and what I think the war was about. His talk about the military spending is not the issue - the problem is that there is no regulation and prices and profits are soaring in a gigantic rip off and the actual benefits on the battlefield are decreasing. Our spending on aircraft carriers is a good example. In this age of inexpensive smart missiles and drones, and mass production I think it was not unexpected to understand that even an aircraft carriers defensive blanket will not be able to defend against a massive attack with drones and missiles. MacGregor has his own agenda, whatever that is, and while he has some points, he has no solution that is good enough to decide to do a 180 degree turn and MacGregorize our military. In other words, he talks too much and says too little.
