great illustration of transforming a problem to make it more visual/geomterical. This is the best example I have seen, great video, really shows the idea well.

I'm impressed, i have no idea how you would do that, but it sounds cool.

Just that initial video is amazing and draws an intuitive picture of the Fourier series ... beautiful!

Very interesting first video in the series. What I wonder about is if there is some kind of preparation or focusing pre-processing that puts the number being looked at in the center of the grid. For example if you translated the digit up/down/left or right would the neurons and training biases work the same, or must something process the image first to be sure that the pieces being looked at are in the correct place?

i dont really see this as learning though, it is more automated debugging. To dignify this by calling it learning just feels wrong to me.

I loved calculus!

This is the most bizarre mathematical equation ... it is so weird.

instantaneous rate of change at a given point.

Wow, that is amazing. Does solving this have to do with how many of these geniuses had encountered this or something very close to it previously?

If the idiocy of the comments about this video are any indication, you failed. Are all these air headed comment real or something you pay for to get hits? Anyway, I think parametric equations is a better way to visualize this, and the dismissal of graphs is not good, and I think just confusing. Calculus began to really make sense for me when I saw the graphs. Also, there is no real demonstration about how looking at this your way makes advanced of multivariate calculus any easier to understand.
