  1. I cannot express how much I hate having to agree with Vladimir Putin. But he is right on the facts, and if the situation were reverse the US would probably be doing the same thing or worse.

  2. Except the US broke that treaty didn't it? It began arming Ukraine with weapons and training, making contacts with their far right nationalists / Nazis, and sending trainers in and taking soldiers on NATO missions. Also helping the right-wing Ukrainians outlaw speaking Russian, and helping them attack the ethnic Russian areas. It is nauseating how all of this is totally ignored and left out of the American news media.

  4. I've heard from Russians that Russia does this maneuver every year, e.g. massing troops on the Ukrainian border for exercises ... but they never expect there to be real trouble. I just bet that Putin wishes he had done this much earlier.
