I want to hear more of Weinstein ... and a lot less of Piers Morgan.

Nice to see a voice or reason and rationality. This is good. Thank you Eric for modeling civil intelligence discussion.

@BackroomCastingCouch-mm3sh That is a truly idiotic statement. Not ironic in the least.

We need people like Eric Weinstein, agree with him or disagree with him, but he would be a great translator between the news and the people. We need a lot more people like this, and a lot less people like Piers who just create noise and chaos.

YES - process and civility are of the utmost importance. And no way Piers agrees with that because he is one of the foremost pushers of incivility.

One limit I have never heard about is this - 27:50 - in physics there is the concept called "restricted data" where if someone discovers something that touches on nuclear weapons, or I would assume any disruptive technology that can be weaponized it could be "born secret". So, that is very interesting.

Eric Weinstein is so wrong on a few things, but he has a lot of intelligence, and I like listening to him? I like that he refused the rapid fire questions ... I wish more had it in them to puch back to this ridiculous right-wing media.

17:25 - This is pure BRILLIANCE. Never heard concepts like these before in the media. Bravo EW for making the media serve you and the audience and not Piers "egomaniac" Morgan !

You don't need to be in the "intellectual" dark web to question the BS we hear in the media every f- day.

@catnapgee5357 I doubt it, you just wanna troll.

@teddyarcher3957 True, but it goes against Piers' every instinct, he cannot shut up, and when he talks he must interrupt. ;-)

6:00 - Piers talks in an ignorant unqualified way as to this being the best time to live. Probably if you look back we have the largest absolute numbers of poverty ... he is ignorantly going for the cheap argument of arithmetic averages and per-centages. In other words, he is obfuscating. Piers is ignorant, but he has a lot of money.

5:30 - It is not true that someone who "goes ad hominem" doesn't have facts ... it may be they are fed up with loaded debates. Knowing, thinking, leading, etc ... is not all determined by who can bloviate and pander the a crowd the best, as the Biden - Trump election is showing us. Winning a public debate does not determine truth or falseness or right and wrong. When you don't have a point ad hominem is an excellent tactic? Not sure about that ... not in debate, but maybe in starting a riot or an insurgency maybe. The relation does not just go one way ... as in ... if you don't have a point you may be tempted to go ad hominem, but going ad hominem is not indicative that someone does not have a point. Maybe they just need to pee really bad? Could be many reasons. Like goading someone into losing their temper does not necessarily make them wrong about the logic of an issue.

The failure Gay exhibited does not mean she cannot do any job. She exhibited very bad judgement does that she has to be cut off from working for a place she has devoted a long time to and presumably understands? She may indeed be a very bad lady, but where is the real proof and agreement on that? The factor that is ignored in the majority of cases is what is the average employed American like in their job? Do we have any reason to believe that any or all of the people she worked with or we work with are automatically better because she made a very public mistake?

Because AI is a ploy for some people to get allocated some government money.

26:03 - Weinstein talks about the Slavic region of Eastern Europe and how unfamiliar almost all Americans are about it - very carefully! ;-) Says Putin might be a brute, but he is a very skilled brute. One has to totally agree with that, but also how the differences in our systems contribute to the plusses and minuses. Our Presidents change very 4 to 8 years, Putin has been in there for decades, similar with China. Same with the Middle East. Technology and communicated have evolved to the point that the US does not have the advantages it used to because everything has changed, except our arrogance.
