  1. I don't understand how brute force password cracking can be a threat assuming that someone cannot try tens, hundreds of thousands of password combinations without setting off some kind of alarm? Of course, all bets are off if the encrypted password is known and the algorithm can be used to match it offline.

  2. Can I get a CD or USB stick to load FreeBSD on my old obsolete unsupported Mac Mini Intel machine? Will it recognize the network, video, speaker, etc? Amazingly I could not find a CD/USB for any Linux version that would work to install Linux on that machine.
