Pushing this into a main concern for society, government and the economy is foolish. The dangerous AI machine on this planet for the time frame that is reasonable is the human being. Human beings are toxic, vicious and stupid, unintelligent.

@vela7447 I didn't mean to give the impression that human will never achieve AGI, Artificial General Intelligence, just that it will take a long time. Maybe another hundred years or more. If you like this theme in fiction you might read "A Plague Of Pythons" by Frederich Pohl. It's an old book, but a very good story.

@vela7447 Computation is all computers can do. Go back far enough in evolution to the point there thinking and consciousness was created. There was as much of millions of years of evolution that we can never know anything about except to guess at, and where did the spark of perception of the environment, eating, survival, reproduction, etc get created? I always say, when a computer can have an orgasm, then we'll know it's conscious. ;-)
