  1. I used to work for Cray Research, the first real Supercomputer company, and the costs of a Cray installation was huge. Plus you have to have rooftop chillers to cool it, and pay for 2 software and 2 hardware analysts on-site to fix problems. Now a common cell phone has more power, more speed and more memory.

  4. I remember watching a lot of these shows. They used to also have a good show called "Fast Forward" that I have never even seen documented anywhere. It was pretty good. Back at a time when I had a Commodore Vic-20 ... with 5K total RAM and no mass storage. $500 for a 140K floppy disk drive.
