  1. Learn how to write and communicate. But I think I get your point which is about her/Kamala Harris. Don't use a pronoun when you have no referal to what you talking about. I was against Biden from the beginning because the entire purpose of the Biden campaign was to lock Bernie Sanders out of the Democratic party forever. Bernie could not fight this so he rolled over and played dead to try to have a voice in the upcoming Biden administration in 2020. Biden shined Bernie on and gave some lip service ... did the minimum to keep people thinking there was a Progressive streak still in the Democratic party, but it was all for nothing. Bernie got shafted, same as in 2016. Biden also chose a horrible candidate, Kamala Harris, with a progressive background who could be eviscerated if she got too uppity or tried to have a say or expose Biden's duplicity. The economy recovered, because that is what the American economy does only because no one screwed it over during Biden's term, but Biden basically did nothing in his Presidency but play bigshot. He tore at Trump but never went to the people to rally support for any of his supposed Progressive ideals. That's because there were none. So Biden just wanted to play President and being senile he just let things roll forward as they may, and was surprised at how much credit he got for doing that, and made the deliberately fatal mistake of running for a second term. I think any political analyst on the inside of the Democratic party could have seen what he was doing - and it was all about discrediting and disempowering the Left. When he got so bad that he could not even continue that farce, he had to quit, leaving an undeserving, incompetent Kamala Harris as the standard bearer of liberalism. Kamala Harris who no one liked and no one voted for or wanted as the only possible inheritor of his power by sheer mechanics. Biden, Pelosi, Newsom, and others in the top Democratic leadership have been working to destroy the Democratic party and secure everlasting rule for the super-rich. Barren Kamala Harris did not even get anything out of the deal except being a good soldier and doing her job. She even got used and screwed by her own husband in this line of thinking.

  2. Interesting point that pushes a manipulative explanation as to why college students move to the Left, and even the irrational far Left, even so far Left they fall off the scale into supporting global terrorism.

Democratic policies after WWII built the largest middle class in the world which has been ripped off and torn down by Conservatives. I wonder how you can not understand that.

We can rig our society to be repressive and socially engineer our behavior - Republicans. We can use our prosperity to make people not have to worry so much about all this democracy stuff because they can live good lives and accept their places in society, even if they are under the Elon Musks of the country. Then the next crisis of history is when the Elon Musks of the country abuse their power and try to tell all the rest of us what to do, how to live, tell us to give up our good lives because they have to have more and cannot afford it.

  5. It makes more sense to me to model what we saw with Latinos in the 2024 election as recent immigrants as naive to what is going on in America. Like back in the 80's Republican Ronald Reagan did this whole laissez-faire, free-market narrative thing along with Milton Friedman, and Americans bought into it. Since then the main body of informed Americans who understand what Reagan's policies did worldwide, especially today in Central and South America that brought about a lot of this emigration. I see this guy as just another Right-wing off-spring of the Libertarian think tanks working to extend that Right-wing agenda to justify the American plutocracy. The tells are there is you listen to his rhetoric. He justifies his theories by using the things he tells us he heard from people in the Texas Rio Grande valley? Right there it tells us that he is skewing his data to he right. Then he goes on to mention "A Time For Choosing" - a Milton Friedman slogan that really means a time for Right-wing social engineering. Putting this guy out there without bringing this information to bear to characterize his argument is a second wave of propaganda against the American people. We the audience deserve much better study of this. This guy is just another propagandist for the far-right who is covering up for new massive manipulations of Latinos and other immigrant populations which uses think-tank studies to manipulate Latinos as they did in 2016 to manipulate white working people. The Democrats, that is the centrist Left has no way to combat or even see this because they don't have the billions of dollars to devote to think tanks or access to the business data or the experts who can interpret it. What it substitutes is wacky theories from the extreme Left wackos. This guy is trying to sell of see how this nonsense retelling of a new extremist Friedmanism, justifying extreme inequality that many Latino populations , and Asian populations are used to and can be manipulated around.

  6. Why would Ezra put this propagandist out here right after the election? He is trying to sell a Friedmanism 2.0 to a naive and even ignorant population of different recent immigrants. At least if he is going to do that he should be able to see what the guy's game is and call him on it.

This was Ezra Klein participating in a re-packaging of Ronald Reagan's Friedmanism of the 80s, justifying massive inequality because new immigrants or immigrants in hot locations like the Rio Grande Valley that he singles out to use as a general case are easily coerced or manipulated. Same with recent Asian immigrant populations, but a little different. The right-wing think tanks have the money and infrastructure to study and engineer political messaging that leaves Democrats/Liberals in the dust - no matter how much attention they pay to these arguments.
