The statistics say that, in general, the longer someone lives the longer they live. For example average male life expectancy in the US is 77 years. If you live to 76 - you are not expected to die the next year because that average factors in child mortality, cancers, accidents and if you miss all of those thing you have new life expectancy - and that is just for the average American. Biden and sadly Trump have very good health care and lifestyle habits which mean that it is highly likely both of them will live well into their 90's. Look at Jimmy Carter who is 99 this year. George H. W. Bush was 94 when he died. These people in general live a long time longer than average. Biden is 81 and is likely to live a lot longer into his 90s.

Did you listen to him talking to the governors today 2-23? He sounded fine. I did not like Biden and did not vote for him in the 2020 primary, but I vote for him in the general election. I did not expect much, but Biden has exceeded expectuations, and has been a better President than President Obama. Ezra is right about Joe Biden being a poor campaigner, but I don't know anyone who would vote for Trump because of that?

@eyedeegee19 That's stupid, of course he will. GHW Bush made it will into his 80s, and Carter is 99. These are not average Americans with shoddy health care, they are the Presidents with the healthiest food and excellent medical care.

@eyedeegee19 You were talking about lifespan, and I corrected you. When an above average upper class American lives to 80, the actuarial data say they will live much longer than the average lifespan of the average American. You can look at the actuarial data for why that is - they are out of the reach of most accidents, child mortality, toxic exposures, etc. I'm not denying there is something going on ... clearly there is. Does he have a physical or media problem or is he having a bad day. I've been in rooms that were hostile to me before and I got steamed and taken off my concentration and i am nowhere near as old as Biden. I just saw him talking to a room full of governors today and he had no problem. His problem is campaigning. It may be as simple that he is stressed out and not getting good sleep.

@eyedeegee19 Seems you're getting a bit overly-sensitive and combative to me. You replied to my comment which was about lifespan because at least part of the point the original poster was making was that Biden was unlikely to live or have full mental function at the end of his second term. My own Dad is 94 and aside from being slower and more thoughtful he is as competent as ever. The point that Ezra Klein makes about the difference between campaining for the job and doing the job is valid, but some people seem to want to turn that into a life or die age thing. Pardon me if that is not what you are doing.

@idasgupta8982 Don't be silly. - no I am not "friends" with the original poster, and no I am not deleting your replies, and no it's not funny too LOL. My last reply to you was - Seems you're getting a bit overly-sensitive and combative to me. YouTube seems to do this with posts and replies sometimes. I've never figured out why. I think the channel owner can delete comments or shadow ban other users so you can see your own posts but no one else can. I just think you're getting weird about the point which is Biden's age. I see so many videos of his speaking like a normal person that the ones where he looks senile there is something going on, but to me I don't care, especially when the opposing candidate is Trump. Ezra's comments here are all good and valid, but what it is is what it is, and there really is no one else out there ready to pick up where Biden is. My feeling at the beginning of he campaign was that it would be good for everyone for there to be a regular primary season and that Biden should run and debate with everyone else, but that is not happening.
