  1. 6:33 - The way that politics is represented in the mainstream media is way out of whack. Yes, because however much they get us attached to media and all the BS they broadcast - the mainstream media is a PR machine for the establishment. It is the ultimate reality show with "fake news" in the sense of the drama that is played out back and forth between right and left in order to keep people out of politics. They believe there is too much democracy in our democracy.

I hate to say it, but I understand why the country would be more driven by money where someone has an actual stake in something as opposed to polling where you don't really know what the level or support or understanding there is for some issue. I said understand, not agree with. I think things would be different if the level of support for say single payer was in the 70-80% level and people were willing to vote consistently for legislation to bring this about. A lot of our government and legislative problems are with the people and their political apathy. They are politically apathetic because they never get a win or see that the system works or even can work. They are also apathetic, except for those with a monetary stake in things because their educations are crap, their jobs do not pay enough to give them time or resources to be politically active. All these things sum together in away that is not being addressed - or talked about to people. People are so financially strapped these days that if you offered them the choice between another day off ... say a 4 day work week in order to have time to study and be active in politics, they would just go out and try to find another job rather than to see a solution in politics.
