Those 18-34 year olds feel that way now, and I am one who has kept faith throughout my life about progressive values and politics, but most people get involved in the world, they get married, have kids and start competing with their neighbors and fellow citizens and eventually turn Conservative ... because anything else seems so hopeless and only for some vague and distant future. I don't know if this will continue to occur to our youngest people, but do they have the will and determination to fight for their values, or will the Right wing find ways to undermine and basically remove them from power and voting as they have with minorities. That is what the redistricting is all about.

I think the Russia thing needs to be investigated and reported on, but I don't think Trump should be the center of this, unless it turns out that he is obviously guilty or something. What could happen with Trump is the same thing that happened when everyone jumped on him for his calls to the wives of the serviceman kill in action. He said he would send $25K to them, and they called him on it, and everyone thought poorly of Trump ... until the check arrived. $25K is a lot of money, and it makes the Left look bad when they focus on this to undermine Trump and then he turns the tables. This helps Trump. Trump's agenda is what needs to be reported on and understood - drop all the other BS. His health care and tax plan are the worst things to happen to this country, and they will bring us down or into fascism and Trump needs to be stopped ... not nagged or insulted to death.

I am a far Left ... Democrat, I guess. I supported and voted for Bernie Sanders in 2016, but to be brutally honest, and I hate to say this, but a lot of Democrats, or people on the Left, want the free stuff from socialism, but they do not want to do the work or stay involved to keep it going. Look what happened after FDR ... eventually the rich will take the country over again unless people stay involved and vigilant. We are losing our country right before our eyes, and the fascist Republicans may be wrong on all counts, but they know how to create a hierarchy and manipulate people.

This is a complex discussion. For example, let's go hypothetical, if the people elected a ton of progressive democrats, and they tried to implement a leftist agenda, universal health care, free education, living wage, full employment, environmental regulation ... I think you'd see so many assassinations it would make your head spin. The billionaires and the super rich would shut the country down, pay no taxes, bribe people with guns to created a standing private army ... like Blackwater ... and tear this country down to retain power. But, if that doesn't happen, the people will just get ground into the dirt, as happened in Europe before the revolutions. One way or another this is not going to turn out well. We reward psychopaths and make them super-rich and leaders, and then we wonder what is wrong? The people are just as bad. As soon as any of them get something they want that they consider enough, they stop participating and do not care about anyone else or their problems. Bottom line is that most people are creeps. Humanity could very well be doomed just by our very nature. But, do not lose all hope, we can at least try ... let's get Bernie Sanders in there and see if he can make a difference.
