The problem with some of this is that the Earth has heavy elements in it, so it is made up of matter that is much older than matter from the start of the universe. Meaning that stars, planets and galaxies from the early universe may not be usable as places for life to develop. The other thing is that the great distances involved isolate everyone, unless a faster than light drive can be invented. If it is possible to go at substantial speed, then maybe we would see other life, but maybe we don't because it is not possible and so civilizations do not try it. Or, the thing is that we are looking at light from stars that is millions of years old in some cases. Maybe there is life that evolved there, but we cannot see it. Maybe they cannot even see our planet exists yet?
