There is the University, and then there is the educated, professional class ... and I think he is conflating the two.  And besides, now Universities such as the University of Chicago economics are virtual training grounds for the worst conservative theories that funnel fascist trainees into Goldman-Sachs and other financial institutions.  This is not quite what he is trying to say ... we are returning to the feudal or aristocrat ages, and the dark ages ... only for the masses that the aristocrats do not want to have education.

The "elite" that he talks about are the ones who want to capture legislation, regulation, education ... bascially everything and cut everyone off from it by money - they keep a record of your political leanings from when you were a kid, and then over time professors are made to push out the Liberals and promote the Conservatives..... is it any wonder that that unconscious perceptions develops into a distrust of expertise?
