Rand Paul thinks Iraq was more stable under Saddam Hussein just ignores its affect on the region to concentrate on the fact that Iraq was terrorized by its own government ... what is this guy thinking?

Sand I think in the long term the US intervention was much better than waiting and having things get worse and worse over time and more difficult to change ... and all bets off if Saddam would have had nuclear weapons. Yeah, people die in war, and thankfully it was more of them and less of us.

Sand Not to mention the false lives existing in terror by the Iraqi secret police and Saddam's sons terrorizing anyone they came in contact with and raping at random all over the countryside. I never get the logic that said things were better under Saddam Hussein.

mrsuns10 Define stability and qualify your statement. There is a lot more to a country than stability ... if the quality of life is not good, you have no freedom of liberty, what matters if that misery is stabilized? Assad needs to go. A new and better stability will form.

Rubio ... coherent? I've never noticed it. Rand Paul's foreign policy may be coherent, but his overall world view is not. Nor is just about any Republican. Trump may be an exception, if you can take him seriously, but he is such a polarizing, dictatorial figure I think most people should be afraid to risk the country's stability to find out.
