Information works great if you have a scientific objective frame of mind.  In the US they try to keep people continually hysterical and emotional precisely so they will not be able to think.  Our society is dysfunctional. People have to be trained like Pavlov's dogs to get emotional and angry at the mere mention of a subject so they will not be open to logic and facts ... and that is what right-wing media does.
