  1. True, I admire Sam so much for his integrity of turning his back on some of the "intellectuals" of the West who are more concerned by imposing the far-right wing on the world than in finding the truth. Bravo Sam!

  3. The real danger in AI is who controls it, and who can utilize it - like computer programming. Look at the position computer programmers have in our society. The other thing is the framing of the mindset of an AI - assuming that the AI does have a mindset ... and we don't even know how to evaluate our own human mindsets. The idea that an AI when turned on will transform into an omniscient being is absurd. We already have groups of humans who are dedicated to the destruction of large numbers of other human beings ... we don't need AI for that. Also, an AI to understand nuclear physics for example cannot just put it all together in its AI mind, it must have access to experiments that have not been done yet. Not to mention that a lot of what we think we know is wrong, and there are huge gaps in what we do know. An AI would have to develop the smarts to be able to find the problems with human thinking ... by going through the massive database of experience, that is unvetted. I think AI will most likely pose a huge danger if it is controlled or directed bya human or a specific group of humans. Remember it was not so long ago that the US government or parts of it were dedicated to disenfranchising minorities or women. We are our own worst enemy, and I think the people working on AI would desire more the kind of AI that can be controlled for their own gain - and that is the human problem.
