Not very free..I live here too...Non stop restrictions...Face shield required...Cant travel to Boracay or other tourists places...8 p.m curfew here in Manila..A lot of corruption here..You are only a foreigner here and will always be a foreigner here with no true rights.....At least it's sunny, people are nice, it's cheap for a foreigner and they speak English.

  38.  @m.t4826  lol.I've livid here for 7 years...Safe to me and has been for every foreigner I know here....America is out of control with Covid now with idiots whining about their "freedoms...Hospitlizations and cases are up everywhere especially Florida and Texas..Just stay in overlybpolitical, overpricedl America and complain like mosr Americans. $1000 isn't a big enough budget for a foreigner in most warm weather countries and definitely wouldn't get you citizenship. Plus emergencies happen so one needs a healthy emergency fund..Best wishes.

It's more "expensive" where I live though...Safety has never been a concern for me here or anywhere in my travels throughout this country...Every country has cities/places that are "unsafe" but common sense will tell you to avoid those areas....If you live out away from the bigger, more populated cities things are defintely more peaceful and affordable if that's the lifestyle you enjoy..
