Rosemary was lobotomized by her father Joe Kennedy, Joe was worried she would get pregnant out of wedlock and couldn't have that so a crackpot doctor talked Joe into giving Rosemary a lobotomy which I believe Joe regretted the rest of his life. Lobotomies were of the 30s as Gender Affirmation is today.
