  3. In the "old" days births and deaths would be recorded by whichever religious establishment the parents belonged to. Families also recorded these in their bibles. There were fewer people in those days, no free health care or assistance, if the man of the house could not work or had been injured, they had to rely on the generosity of others to survive. Given the huge amount of people now and the supposedly things in place, its essential for identification.@funnyman9616

  5. Correct. 50/60's tchrs were bullies with a few, only a few exceptions. Most did not teach, only read from books with no explanation of what it meant. If a child dare ask a question they would be forced into a corner for ridicule.
