On the domestic front, she was the nation's mum, completing over 400 engagements a year well into her 90's. She was the heartbeat of the nation, a steady, dependable touchstone of calm & stability, issuing speeches in times of national crisis. She also jumped out of a helicopter for the opening of the London Olympics in 2012 aged 86! 😁
