I had an aunt - Aunt Daisy, who was LOVELY old girl & although in her late 90's & almost blind was excellent company pontificating about the fortunes of our local football (Soccer) side West Ham Utd. & other tales of the East End of which there were many! She'd had a very hard life in London's East End, my Great Grandpa (her father) was only 23 when he was killed in a fairground accident leaving his wife & two children really penniless. Those old East Enders are a very tough & resilient breed though & aunt Daisy went on to make 100 before unfortunately dying in an accident. She died about 35 years ago now but although very young when Jack was about she lived in that area & remembers first hand tales from the adults who would have known about & possibly witnessed some of the victims - the East End was VERY tight Knit back then! She said that for years after the mums would threaten the kids with - "Jack's gonna get yer!" if they misbehaved!

@aonary5382 To be honest that was my own math as to whether she was alive during the actual time of the murders. It was more her tales & memories of being a child in the East End very shortly after. She never said - "'Ear! You know that Jack the Ripper? I was a baby when he was around!" or whatever. It was just in general conversation about her life in the East End & what the mums said to the kids. I've never looked at the exact timeline & she certainly never asserted it as facts so you might be right she might have been born after..... by a couple of years but she remembered first hand accounts of people who were! If you want to check it out on the census her name was Daisy Collier (nee Dwyer) address at time of death - Heniecker Gardens London E.6 & my grandad's name was Jack Dwyer. He went on to run The Star of the East on Commercial Road, Poplar not that far from the majority of the killings. If you are calling me out on this & want to have £10K with me about it - be my guest!

@aonary5382 On just looking up the date of the last murder - If she died in 1986 & was a hundred she would have born in 1886 which was two years BEFORE the last murder. I'm not 100% certain what year she did die but I know I had only just taken up with my now Mrs. & used to take her to Daisy's shortly before she died & that was 1986 that we met so I don't think I'm a million miles or a couple of years out.
