  3. Ah bless him! I thought when we met "mum" she would be some over blown attention queen but she was a very normal sensible lady & sounds a great mum! Hey little boys & big ones too, I'm 57, get obsessed by things, I went to Florida a few years back & became obsessed with the aquifers and a cemetery in London prior to that named the Crossbones Cemetery where they used to bury all the London freaks & undesirables & that is just two! This is his thing, it's not like he pulling the wings of butterflies, it's obvious it wasn't contrived or forced upon him.... I think it is wonderful! Chances are he might grow out of it, he might not but he is HAPPY! & that is all that counts!

Go figure & whilst you're doing that, find your nearest Labour MP or better still, a Socialist one, & kick them squarely up the backside! :face-orange-frowning:

  9. Hmm… I'm no expert but he is VERY high functioning if he is. With immense intelligence, which I think this kid has, comes obsession. It was one of the great Greeks, Archimedes I think who begged Roman soldiers not to kill him for 10 minutes until he had finished a maths problem he was working on when his village had been invaded, such was the level of obsession! It's interesting that both your other examples come from the UK, it is more than possible that similar people exist around the world but we have a very free & thankfully open society & actually celebrate our eccentrics whereas this kid would probably be suffocated in Bible Belt America & certainly not able to express himself the way this little boy can!
