  4. I'm a cab driver in Essex & have a few runs out to Heathrow airport. About 5 or 6 years ago they had one of these magnificent aircraft slung in an out of the way service apron at the back of the airport covered in bird poop & I distinctly remember moss growing on the airframe & around the windows.... I almost wept!

  7. As a Brit as a nation we have a stab at some decent innovation & reasonable tech but I would say we & also the States were probably 20 or 30 years behind the Germans at the end of WW2.
