  1. Your test tested nothing. You were totally ignoring artillery basics like rotational speed of the Earth, wind drift, and even differences in air density at different altitudes. This is why in WW2 it took so long for any side to start making decent bomb sights and hitting their targets. Work out a decent bomb site (it will take more than a day), test the bomb sight, then when the sight works test your rods.
