I feel so sorry for the people being fired who did nothing illegal or wrong but are now suddenly without cause unemployed with no idea how to feed their children or keep their homes, much less food on a table. There will be big ripple effects of course. About 70% of the total DC metropolitan region (also lots of Baltimore region too) is totally dependent on Federal salaries to pay mortgages, put food on tables, put customers with money in stores, pay for metro services,pay utility bills, etc. The beginning of the 2nd Great Depression is here.

You can expect to see stores and businesses that counted on that in those two cities start to close in a few weeks. 711s and supermarkets are already seeing diminished flows. Real estate owners will too soon as the ripples begin to spread. As businesses close and economic ripples spread you will see some changes, not for the good. Did you watch the changes in and around Bethlehem, PA and Braddock, PA and down the Ohio river towns when Bethlehem Steel ceased operations and US Steel cut back operations? The decline in Baltimore, MD and Arlington, VA and Fairfax, VA and other Washington, DC areas will be similar. BTW, not mentioned by President Trump is that US Steel is today owned by Nippon Steel, a Japanese company. Any profits US Steel makes will be Japan's, not America's.
