The Russian Federation probably won't even last 3 years, much less talk of 10.

When a US President (Lincoln) declared martial law the Supreme Court said no you can't do that so he had soldiers go there and disband the supreme court and send the judges home. When Maryland legislature objected and wanted to join the Confederacy all of them were arrested and replaced with pro Lincoln legislators. We don't know why the S. Korean Parliment Speaker is saying their President is no longer President but maybe there is something in S. Korea law that could make that true, or not. If President Biden suddenly declared Martial law does Congress or the Senate have the authority to over rule him? Nope. Probably the same in S., Korea. Grab your popcorn. Which side will the US back? The side that wants to arm Ukraine with S. Korean weapons, or the side that doesn't? We will need lots of popcorn to watch this one.

It is weird to me, that based on this report, most of the fighting is happening in and around religious places rather than government centers, armories, and C3I sites.

Russian bloggers were posting about Ukraine's intent to start a new offensive into Kursk for over a week. Truly weird that they are so inefficient they took no serious preventive action. Was it a shortage of resources on their part, incompetent leadership, or both? Either way, Slava Ukraine. I have personal concern that if China moves against Taiwan, N. Korea will also be behaving badly on that day. Possibly Russia too.

10 Russian rubles to the US penny by May 2025.

The attack was at night and the commercial office building was therefore empty in the closed offices of the building. Russia's air defenses include radio hamming equipment designed to confuse the GPS receivers in the drones. So if the drones landed on the wrong targets, that was Russia's doing. If one does not think Ukraine did the drone attacks, what other group does one wish to blame? Little Green men, Indonesia or Grays from another dimension? LoL. Occam's Razor, Slava Ukraine. Don;t swallow the Kool-Aid. The so-called coup attempt by Prigozhin was just a play, pre-approved by Putin months in advance. All the deaths and airplane losses involved were just acceptable window dressing, so that those disloyal to Putin could be identified. Prigozhin halted his advance at exactly the per-approved place and time. The play worked. Many anti Putin military leaders who supported or had advance knowledge of the 'rebellion' but told no one, were identified and rounded up by the FSB. Machiavelli would have loved the play. If Wagner attacks anyone, the most likely target would not be Poland but it would be Latvia as that would split NATO ground forces. 20% of Latvia's population is Russian which affords huge 5th column (black ops) opportunity. The Latvian army has no tanks, and is more pick up trucks than anything else. The weaponry is a hadge-podge qith 9mm and 12 gauge being dominate infantry caliber. This is why after completing the capture Moscow play Wagner moved to the Northern part of Belarus not far from Latvia's border.

I see three choices on the crashed bomber. 1) as parts wear out they are replaced by cannibalized parts from other planes that look like they might be okay, but aren't 2) the planes are not getting required maintenance at the required scheduled intervals. 3) Counterfeit aircraft parts from China, Pakistan or elsewhere have entered the Russian supply chain. All threechoices are good for the world, butkind of bad for Russia.

Any Russian under the age of 86 in any NATO country is a pestilential saboteur and should be deported back to Russia.

I can just imagine the comedy of Russian leaders trying to explain a battle plan of the day to a Korean platoon. Do they even have similar radios?

Back in the 60s I was a passenger on the SS Constitution which was cruising from the Caribbean and heading to Columbia, Equador, etc. through the Canal. When we were somewhere near Florida we were diverted by the US Navy trying to track a Soviet submarine. There was a big search effort going on to the East although those ships were out of sight. What the Soviets hadn''t apparently known was the SS Constitution as part of the US Merchant Fleet had recently been fitted with sonar. At the appropriate time our cruise ship pinged them and the exercise ended. A Golf class submarine soon surfaced less than 1,000 yards off our port side and and some US war planes soon flew overhead. It was all actually pretty cool and great fun for us kids (I think I was 12 or 13). We all stood on the deck with binoculars waving at the submarine crew a few of whom had come on deck with their own binoculars waving back. We held parallel course for about 20 minutes then both turned and we resumed our normal cruise. It was my first Cold War encounter with Soviet Navy ship but I saw others on other cruises (we even collided with one at anchor off Gibraltar, but that was on a different ship).

This taking out of the bridge will create a target rich environment for Ukraine's naval drones as Russia has no option but to try to compensate the logistical problems by sea. Slava ukraine
2
Yes. It began in 2022. Over 60 nations are already involved one way or the other.
2
@sanelemngadi9324 LoL But most of the dying inside Kursk seems to be Russian (and N. Korean) soldiers, not those of Ukraine, so that becomes a rather stupid process on the Russian part. Not to mention the incredible (long lasting) damage this does to the Russian economy.

I would not make too much of the age of the Russian tanks. T55s are still in use in many countries and are quite deadly if an infantryman does not have an anti tank missile or a drone overhead. In fact even an older M4 Sherman or a Mark III or IV Panzer can kill a lot of people if they don't have anti tank munitions. Even if they do, if that old tank has been retrofitted with modern thermal vision capability, at night they could be really scary and deadly. So the focus should be on knocking them out, not complaining that they are old. Old guns can still kill.

Obviously the Indian lackey of Putin is being used as a messenger to deliver a back door negotiation offer.
1
They got a whole bunch of men (and dependents) and equipment still stuck there. Two of the ships intended to carry them out sank and some of the planes also had problems. It is still possible some will have to try walking home. LoL
1
from the blast damage I would speculate something grenade sized under the front seat or in the dashboard. Is the dead Admiral in Sevastopol the same Black Sea Admiral supposedly killed in a drone strike on their HQ there over a year ago?
1
Blockade civilian Black Sea shipping to and from Russia while maintaining the sanctions and isolation and Russia will, in a fairly short time, pretty much become nothing more than a 3rd World 18th century land pf city states and no threat to anyone outside of it. Without the Black Sea commerce the Russian Federation is nothing and incapable of self sustainment via it's Northern and Pacific sides.
1
It already began in 2022, where were you then?
1
It goes without saying that if China attacks Taiwan, N. Korea will move South and attack Japan too. The same is true in reverse. If one attacks the other one will too so as to divide and weaken US reactions against either.

The question about the Earthquake, was it one pulse or two?

During WWII a US Navy warship rolled over while docked in NYC. I forget the name of it, but Life or Look magazine in their WWII issues had a picture of it with a lone soldier guarding the dock next to the upside down warship.

Because they don't wish to die in Ukraine?
1
Russia drafted a lot of their railroad and steam plant workers as well as firemen and lots of truck drivers and sent them to die in Ukraine. Now no one is left to maintain anything.
1
I suggest Africa and Syria be a separate pod cast.
1
I am totally in favor of disconnecting Russia entirely from the Internet and also cutting their access to international phone calls.
1
Russia has over a half million dead or severely wounded casualties and NATO hasn't even arrived yet, LoL

It was a trap Sec State Albright started setting back in 2005. Putin was and is stupid enough to walk Russia right into it and self destroy his country. A good leader would not have cared how big a defensive group like NATO got and would have embraced the free trade opportunities Ukraine's membership in the EU (which would have happened already if Russia hadn't invaded Crimea in 2014) would have presented a non-Communist Russia. But Putin is an old school Communist, and a fairly stupid easily led and fearful one too. NATO never had any reason to want to attack Russia and wouldn't have. But Putin's stupidity has both destroyed Russia's economy, shrank the population, and immolated it's own Army. Russia no longer has any future, other than being carved up with East of the Ural mountains goin back to China, etc.

No one is mentioning yet, but I would anticipate any government records, bank records, computer hard drives, tapes, business records from factories involved in war production are all heading back to Ukraine for analysis. Probably some machinery too. These things are very probably happening contemporaneously with continued operations elsewhere in Kursk or Belogrod. If information about vendors who facilitate bypassing sanctions is located in those records, appropriate measures will be taken. If backdoors and passwords to the computer networks controlling Russia's power grid are found, they will be exploited. If Russian banks have a Russian equivalent of a safe deposit box then in towns where those bank locations are found I am sure there are teams working on popping those vault doors open and inventorying the contents. If there was gold or precious metals there, it is probably already en-route to Ukraine's treasury. If Ukraine is still there in October's harvest time whatever is in occupied Russian fields in Kursk or Belgorod will soon be sold cheaply in Ukraine if not simply given away for free.

I would have no objection to China giving up it's plans to expand South and East and replacing them with plans to expand North instead. Russia owes China a great deal of money and most of Eastern Russia was stolen from China. Using Russia's own policies China is entirely justified in sending peace keeping troops into Russia to protect those descended from Chinese ancestry while also recovering their stolen lands. That would also eliminate a lot of internal stress in China and allow formation of a more capitalist economy.
1
Silly man, WW3 began in 2014 when Russia invaded Crimea. The game has been on for a decade.

How are American war ships getting into the Black Sea? My understanding was Turkey is blocking all incoming war ships.
1
@rirtunsasgi2626 Actually it didn't. The US security surveillance was an aerial surveillance.

YouTube is spamming the H*** out of pro-Ukraine channels with ads this week. I am not sure if it is because their popularity has increased and Google executives think no one will mind excessive ads, or if it is a Russian tactic accomplished via the aid of pro-Russian insiders at YouTube. Either way, I had to reset my browser several times just to reach the channel then 3 or 4 more times while the video played.

It is equally possible that Ukraine will find Harry Potter's magic wand and make all the Russian soldiers disappear or tunr them into little frogs. But if I was talking about how Ukraine could join NATO I would not have considered either what he said or the H. Potter idea as an option. Maybe it is time to replace him if he thought Ukraine ceding anything to Russia as a way to join NATO was an option. Russia's Duma publicly stated on Russian TV last year the seizing of Ukraine's assets was the reason for the SMO with a secondary goal being the depopulation of Ukraine followed by using Russians to replace the depopulated people. There is no reason for Russia to have any Black Sea Fleet, and with enough Naval drones they won't. I was under the impression earlier authorities in Kiev had requested no information be released as to what kind of or which factory was hit today. Did they change that? Frankly I think returning the eastern lands stolen by Peter the Great to China would both solve China's economic and energy deficiencies and also eliminate any possible profit or desire to go after Taiwan.
1
Many did.
1
If Ukraine lowered it's conscription rate to 18, like the US has for it's own draft registration the manpower shortage would be reduced.
1
Did Russians loot the Treasury of Syria or did Assad take it with him? There will probably be much more fighting as only one rebel group can be the ruling one.
1
It is dangerous to battle corruption in that environment. It is not as bad as Mexico or Columbia but it is not as far away. Carriers do not travel alone. What other ships arrived with it?
