  7. ISIS grew from the vacum created by Obama pulling us out of areas in which the there were no good controls on the population while also leaving huge stockpiles of weapons behind. Regarding Syria, that stuff was decades in the making. Assad didn't care if a piss poor educational system combined with religious zealotry and extreme poverty resulted in tthe exportation of terrorists, as long as he remained in power. C3I is everything and once he started losing it in the outlaying provinces, the unraveling had to begin. The same is true for every country. You stay in charge only for so long as you maintain control of the more remote regions. The line between dissent and actual rebellion is a very fine line. Things start getting interesting (unpleasant) when a central government yields responsibility and or control. So you had ISIS in the Syrian territory, and a central government that had lost control of those places. Inevitable conflict. Regarding the US using ISIS, LoL, can you think of a better way of reducing their numbers while also thoroughly pissing off Putin?
