  2. No. Kirk Douglas did a movie in the 60s 'Days in May' or some such about a coup in the US and the installation the plotters used as a base was based on Mt. Weather (but not named). Secret is a relative word. Secret to who? Both Stalin and Mao knew of several of our sites and Stalin even teased Eisenhower about Greenbrier. The more elaborate a site, the more noticeable it becomes, especially from space.

  3. Actually there are quite a few such places. As technology changes, the choice is upgrade the old facility, or just build a new one. Usually the 2nd choice is preferred.
