Instead, I presume: As soon as rioters gain the support of a country's majority, this nation simply goes down into the abyss of triviality... Please improve my perception, if you intended to express something else.

The Trump administration favored the security gap, in particular through decisions regarding executive preventive measures (refusal to order additional armed protection forces in a timely manner). This opened the possibility to turn a reasonable demonstration about a perhaps possible election fraud into a violent act of stupid aggression.
