Listening and understanding Russia directly, rather than just reading coffee grounds, throwing chicken bones, or inspecting guts, would probably be a better alternative.

Those who want to bargain fairly and honestly with Russia, could, for example, make a simple statement like: "I want... I offer..." The past has already shown in detail on both sides of the negotiating table how trustworthy such agreements are likely to be.

@cy-one But if you want to bargain fairly and honestly with Russia, you could, for example, make a simple statement: "I want... I offer..." The past has already shown in detail on both sides of the negotiating table how trustworthy such agreements are likely to be.

@cy-one Do you actually have no clue how to negotiate fairly in a complex market?!? Ok, I'll help you with examples: 1. Bargain in plain language: With the UN: I want a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine's disputed regions to hold fair referendums on their desired future status. (Which must offer appart from choosing between Ukraine or Russia of course also the option independence, equivalent to the successor states of Yugoslavia). I offer soldiers for this task, to support the international led UN peacekeeping mission. With Russia: I want energy resources such as gas and oil. - I offer usable money and assets. 2. Don't forget that it was YOU who mentioned TRUST in the first place! - But I can imagine quite well, why... Just focus on trading with those partners you consider reliable and where the dealing partners aren't torpedoed by "an ALLEGEDLY UNKNOWN force majeure" all the time. 3. Fair trade means that the trading partner gets exactly what he wants. Russia's opposition must find its own way of dealing with Russia. I have already explained one possibility in (1.).

@cy-one Nothing. Sorry, my mistake.
