The upper limit of national airspace is not defined by international law.

@First-Last_name The upper limit of national airspace is not defined by international law. According to Wikipedia, an altitude of between 60 and 110 km is normally assumed as the airspace upper limit for the sovereign territory. When the U2 was still regularly conducting espionage flights, it was actually defined by the Russian air defense systems ;) :) Re-entry vehicles from space have to cope with massive friction from about 120 km. A lot of things (like Russia's border transgression) should finally be regulated at the UN by international agreement... So I'd suggest to meet there half way and talk finally about the limitation of UN-SC member's veto rights and the reduction of the quorum for a peace keeping mission to a 2/3 majority !

@JohnSmith-vn8dm If no permit was given (indirectly, somewhere, for all those roaming weather balloons) it's simply called an airspace intrusion... Maybe China merely wants to measure the CO2 impact of its coal-steel blast furnaces and its cement factories on the USA ;) I'd give the hardware back but demand a copy of all data at the same time. Similar to what happens with FDRs and CVRs after an airplane crash.

@lwwells The feature "*Send* (direct private) *message*" is allegedly not available anymore in the "about (bio)" section of other YouTube channels since 2018. How has this function been updated or substituted? Sometimes I'd also like to send a private message to other channels. I know already some special characters like asterix(*) for bold , underscore (_) for italc and hyphen (-) to strike text through . Does there also exist a special character use to declare a message as private and exclusively display it below the notification bell of the recipient? I've seen quite some of those "secret" messages been sent exclusively to me below my notification bell. Can anyone tell me please how this works?

@First-Last_name A recognized organization is not the same as a commonly agreed paragraph supplementing international law, is it? ;) Anyway, I think we can at least agree on the need for a written global agreement...

@First-Last_name Randomly out of nowhere ? The following information is publicly available, even on YouTube: Police stations which you mentioned about 20 hours ago have (also) been tasked to extend Chinese driver licenses. Without them, Chinese citizens would have to visit China regularly, only to keep their license valid. Usually such a trip is done by plane which consumes kerosene. Why don't you immediately ask in plain language what you don't know, if you feel too lazy or too incompetent to gather the info by yourself ? Accusing interlocutors of BS might attract a sh*tstorm in return ;) :)

@First-Last_name Yep, if no permission was granted (indirectly, somewhere, for all those roving weather balloons), it's simply called an intrusion into airspace. But maybe China merely wants to measure the CO2 impact on the US from its coal-steel blast furnaces and cement factories. ;) I would return the hardware, but demand a copy of all data at the same time. Similar to what happens with FDRs and CVRs after a plane crash. And still: A 2/3 majority (or more) to adjust the "constitution" (the international law) of the global community regarding such simple things should not be too difficult, right?

@First-Last_name If they behave as you suggest, a country would isolate itself diplomatically pretty quickly. Even the Turks returned the Mig that the Russian fugitive brought with them. I know the story "The Hunt for Red October" suggests a different approach. But allegedly nobody knew anything about the new owner in that story. How do you intend to "conjure away" the balloon now ;) :D :)

@First-Last_name Of course I appreciate weather research! Obviously you have no clue what I honor ! Why are you complaining about Chinese citizens stopping burning kerosene on long-distance flights merely to renew their driver's licenses?

@First-Last_name Why not asking a friend for the help to comprehend?

@First-Last_name Who dares judge the grammar of a statement as "correct or incorrect" after claiming that the message in its entirety "made no sense" at all ? :D :D :)
