Well, as far as I am aware so far, a colleague of Nupur Sharma quoted "Hadith - Sahih al-Bukhari - Book of Marriage - bukhari: 5134" on Twitter, which reads: Narrated 'Aisha: That the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old. Hisham said: I have been informed that 'Aisha remained with the Prophet for nine years (i.e. till his death)." I don't know what Nupur initially said at the TV debate as it seems that all the original footage has been deleted on YT. But I found a fairly reasonable explanation: That the old Arabic word for "marriage" is more like a social bilateral contract for the partnership between two people and not necessarily describes a sexual relationship... Nowadays we would probably call a bond as mentioned in the quoted hadith paragraph as a godfather to godchild partnership. Especially in this case, I can't see anything wrong in the Hadith paragraph mentioned, if you have enough background knowledge to understand, how it has to be read. Of course, child molester and abuser might also try to read and use the Hadith in the context of their habits ...

@Vijay K Who are you talking about and where does your information about Fatima's mother come from?!? Would you like to suddenly divert the topic of conversation to Chadīdscha bint Chuwailid ?!? I spoke of the relationship between the Prophet and Aisha...
