@jayant43 What Iran wanted mainly in return to the cheetahs was said in this leading video clip alread: Asian lions. However, in my previous comment, I asked you to suggest an Internet link you trust on the topic of mutual (side) demands. It's been you, who already pointed out nine hours ago, that a "suitable habitat" perhaps doesn't exist in Iran...

@jayant43 Iran proposed at least according to this report allegedly something like "quid (cheetahs) pro quo (lions)". From where did you get your idea about "Iran is not even conserving"? Ever heard of the Miandasht-Wildreservat in Iran?!?

@jayant43 Just provide an internet link to the offers and demands of the two governments of India and Iran at the time. After that, we can continue this conversation based on facts instead of wild assumptions and claims.

It's so ridiculous that India prefers African Cheetahs just because it's unable of fair negotiations with Iran about Asian mammals :D :D :(

@uyeeguurmusalmaan Sure, I also believe this information comes from the same report that broke the news that tigers in Africa are being trained to adopt a vegetarian diet. India did not want to give Iran Asiatic lions. According to this report (3:33), that was the underlying reason for the termination of the negotiations with Iran! But I'd be happy to give you some European locusts as a gift if you haven't had enough of them yet...

@uyeeguurmusalmaan I don't know either... This Hindustan Times lead story doesn't explain too much about the underlying causes and what actually happened when India was talking to Iran about the cheetahs back then. It also didn't say where to find more information about the old negotiation disorders. Too bad actually...
