I always love watching foreign news outlets discussing American events because it gives me insight into how the world perceives us - from what I’m gauging right now they’re pitying us. That’s just sad!

RIP small businesses and all those people about to struggle even more financially.

The world is laughing at us right now!

Safe to call this year historic and it’s only been a mere 9 days!

When will this drama end? I’m tired of the 4th season already! Edit: Sorry meant 5th season.

I would never wish the presidency of the United States even upon my worst foe. The stress, the pressure, the sleepless nights of worrying and the constant stream of threats to your well-being. I used to imagine myself in the role but then I thought about it and it lost its appeal overtime - especially with the partisanship, general apathy and pessimism, and rampant divisiveness in society.

@ShoJ369 The majority of voters voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016, same applies in 2020 for Joe Biden. So why do you claim, “you got exactly what you wanted” when you couldn’t be farther from the truth. In the popular vote, Clinton beat Trump by 2,000,000+ votes. In 2020, Biden grew this number to 7,000,000+.

Europeans, or at least their governments, wanted a peaceful and stable American leader who would reestablish America’s multilateral approach to foreign policy and geopolitics towards its traditional global allies and partners. They just got one!

@owlinthewood We’re not the only ones suffering from the scourge of populism and all the divisive rhetoric it brings and stokes. Look at Poland or Hungary, even the UK to a smaller extent. Unfortunately, since we’re the western world’s most powerful democracy - we get most of the most limelight and as a result most of the coverage but this isn’t unique - it’s actually emblematic of a trend.

to any Hong Kongers out there we want you to know from the US, We Stand With You in your honorable endeavor of keeping out the autocratic role of Xi's government and your natural born rights to protest against injustice! We love you and keep on fighting for your rights!

BlueHen123 Either way, they're fighting Communism and trying to fight autocratic rule which is trying to suppress their civil liberties and take away their natural born right to protest! So I stand with them. And also.... to any Hong Kongers out there we want you to know from the US, We Stand With You in your honorable endeavor of keeping out the autocratic role of Xi's government and your natural born rights to protest against injustice! We love you and keep on fighting for your rights! #StandWithHk

q g I think those are certain subsects of the protestors, but they don't represent the majority of them who just want freedom and the maintaining of their natural born civil rights and liberties for which all humans are entitled to.

Leilani Ku'uipo It was all a matter of time, and I wasn't even born in the 20th century when the handover occurred. But, I have been following the events recently and yes your right- one country, two systems was never going to be successful in the long term because the Chinese authoritarian leadership on the mainland never really intended to abide by its rules and be patient, eventually they would have just lost their patience and felt like they had to exert their power and control wherever they see fit!!!
