  2. Leilani Ku'uipo It was all a matter of time, and I wasn't even born in the 20th century when the handover occurred. But, I have been following the events recently and yes your right- one country, two systems was never going to be successful in the long term because the Chinese authoritarian leadership on the mainland never really intended to abide by its rules and be patient, eventually they would have just lost their patience and felt like they had to exert their power and control wherever they see fit!!!
