@devolution1310 As an American, the funny thing is both the American and British propagandists squabble over credit in defeating the Germans, but aren’t even remotely close to deserving it in comparison to the hard fighting and courageous Soviets in the East. Not trying to diminish the relevance or sacrifice of the western front, but in terms of importance and who inflicted the most damage to the German military - if anyone deserves the true credit for the defeat of Nazi Germany - it’s the SOVIETS who suffered the most casualties, fought in the biggest battles such as Stalingrad or Kursk, ground down the German war machine, and inflicted the most casualties for the Wehrmacht. It’s a fact that 80% of German losses in WW2 were suffered in the East. The Western Front was a child’s playground comparison to the true Soviet war effort and sacrifice. This is evident in the fact that just one battle - the Battle of Stalingrad - has more Soviet casualties than the Americans and British combined!
