  4. Afghanistan is pretty much like a modern day version of a Vietnam scenario. Long bloody conflict, with no end in sight, certainly unpopular among the troops who are fighting it and the civilian population here at home and battling a guerilla force enemy who uses hit and run attacks and bombings against civilians and troops to sue chaos and instability. When you think about it like that it matches Vietnam EXACTLY. To be honest with you, I don't see a path to victory here but one of inevitable defeat and withdrawal from the country.
