  2. I had a bunch of Vietnamese and Cambodian friends in grade school in north Florida They came for the shrimping industry. There was definitely friction, my father owned a shrimp boat and it was hard competing with three families living on each boat and running them around the clock. No ones pets were eaten that I know of though.

  4. ​ @user-vi2dk1qz5f the thing about the ducks at the park, those are invasive domestic ducks and geese and they are actually a threat to wild native populations. Those are not pets and shouldn't even be there, but that is a whole nother story.

  6.  @jmurphy6767  I don't know about Chinese Americans, but in China they definitely eat both. The beat the dogs too before dispatching them because it is suppose to make them taste better. It's not uncommon to steal someones pet dog that you hate, beat the dog into submission and then eat it. It is an actual cultural problem.

Well, he shot guns hunting too, but not anymore than me and my hearing isn't anywhere near as bad as his. I don't shoot unsuppressed without ear pro anymore unless it's absolutely necessary.

  25. The reason we don't have any ship yards is environmental. I live near a small private shipard in Florida and am only two counties over from the Austal shipyard in Mobile. The environmental laws have made it nearly impossible to operate an existing shipyard, much less open a new one. Find a way to get around the environmental laws and we could probably expand that production capacity quit a bit.

  32. I don't like Shawn for completely different reasons, but we are being jerked around here. I watched a giant drone darting around above Pensacola/Corey Sation NAS last night for about the 7th time. I just hope it's ours, because I have never seen anything like that before. Something lit up the size of a helocopter WAY up in the air moving around like small quad copter, doing jerky loops that a helo wouldn't be able to do. And this is in a general flight area of freaking military and commercial jets!

It doesn't matter though, kids don't go to the school library. I was a heavy reader as a child, read adult novels by age 10, and still never went to the school libraries. It was a bunch of old books for little kids, and I had stopped reading goosebumps and other such garbage by the time I was in middle school. I read kids books for about 2 years before I moved on.

  43. ​ @savageinstitute9569 they would have to be wild geese, not feral domestics like found in most parks, for it to be illegal. Those geese need to be taken out, they compete with the wild geese and interbreed which is a problem for wild ducks and geese.

  44. Life long Floridian. FEMA doesn't do much after a disaster. They come in and write checks to people that can prove they don't have insurance. But here is the thing, yeah the one time payments aren't all anyone can get, but most people get denied any other claim anyway

When he claimed the military industrial complex doesn't exist, while being part of it, I knew I had to be carefully listening to him.

  47.  @altercount4554  Yes, but most Canada Geese and Mallard Ducks in parks are from domestic stock, they aren't wild migratory birds. Some one introduced farm ducks and geese to the park so that people have tame animals to feed. Wild migratory birds tend to shy away from people and won't eat out of your hand. The migrants shouldn't even be here, with that I agree. I am just passionate about waterfowl as I am an hunter, and those park ducks are bad for wild ducks. And no eating ducks like that won't spread disease anymore than any farm raised or pet ducks. People literally have those birds as pets, in their house.
