@michelleshaw1211 I am not in good shape, like I said live hand to mouth. Just made it a priority to pay off a cheap house. Your not gonna be able to afford renting any longer without significant income. Rents insane, but that's a rent problem not a food cost problem.

I am poor and I struggle with a lot of things, but never food.actually I have to diet every couple of months or I would weigh 300 pounds. What are y'all eating, cavier? Or do you have a sht load of other bills? I don't have cable, wifi, only use 100 bucks worth of power a month and we own our house, which we paid 42k for in 2003. Sounds like y'all are trying to live above your means.

@goobon They are selling for about 100-150k, except for the mansions on the one waterfront road that are in the millions. You can get one of the old ones that's messed up for like 70k if you can beat the flippers to it. I realize I am lucky. I was renting about 15 years ago, and saw the writing on the wall. I moved in with my dad and took my life savings and paid off his mortgage. So I paid about half of the 45. It absolutely sucked moving in with a parent and paying for it to basically be told what to do and be looked down upon by everyone for not having an apartment. But had I kept renting I wouldn't be afford anything now, so I believe it was the right call.

I am a republican, but the Republican plan to double down on the war on drugs will only make the fentnyl problem worse. The only way to stop fentnyl is to legalize safe opoids for over the counter sale, have the government sell them, and spend all the money made on rehab for those ready to stop. Not methadone or Suboxone or any other permanent replacement either, those drugs are opoids. They are not cures, it's just another, more dangerous form of heroin. Slowly seen them off of whatever opoid they are dependent on. You will either reach a point were you are tired of the shitty dope life, or you will die. It's simple and it's the only way to fix the problem. Make it legal but extremely looked down upon. If you take it for pain or any reason you will be scorned as a juny, same as a drunk.

@rosesoulsby4472 I get beef and pork out of the dumpster behind the local grocery store. They cycle stock on Thursdays usually and freeze all the steaks and roasts and just throw them away. Haven't bought any meat in years but eat tbone and ribeye regularly. It's not spoiled either, I won't take it unless it's frozen and bright red. I am not judging, just saying you got to go out there and figure it out.
