  1.  @Scrat335  true democracy, where the population votes on every decision only works in small groups. You get more than a couple hundred people and it becomes unwieldy and breaks down. This is how representative democracy works. The people elected those politicians.

  3.  @edmurth  Well when many of us in the west where against the war in Iraq, we where also powerless to stop it. Yeah we got to protest and march with our signs, but it didn't achieve anything.

  4. The same thing happened in the west. Motorcycle gangs in America and Canada were Vietnam veterans. Many modern street gangs and even the cartels send members to fight in the military so they come back with the skills of war.
