Hwite people enter as they please, hwite people leave as they please. Local plankton shouldn't take it personally. The thing is, if only hwite masters combined efforts, they could've eradicated terrorists in a blink of an eye. But that was never their intention. Why eradicate terrorism and leave, when you can perpetrate it and stay and continue to extract resources? Soviets actually fought terrorism, because they were ideological and because they didn't want drugs and terrorists from Afganistan, which is next door. Americans payed Talibs for them to keep running circles. Soviets left because of collapse of USSR (constant proxi wars against West ate a hole in a budget). And US of A never pays its bills, so they are not as worried about holes in the budget; they left, because they need troops for NATO VS Russia battle royal. Winner takes it all. Also winner returns to Afganistan. If it will be Russians — they'll try to reestablish diplomacy with Afganistan, but won't keep them too close, maybe will build them a nuclear plant, maybe Chinese will build them some infrastructure (in exchange for resources ofc.) — depends how agreeable Talibs had become after leaving in isolation for 30 years; and if it will be "collective West" — they'll return to typical villaging–pillaging business, hwite master is back! [insert whip swoosh]. As the third option, everyone lives Afganies alone as they continue to sell kidneys.

That's because D Day was not as much about saving Europe from nazis, as much it was about preventing Soviets from taking charge over Europe. And it worked. Because of the D Day Europe is a colony of US. So they rightfully celebrate exactly that .
