@gx9954 I totally did. I think they have tendency to take tidbits of real information about intense training, mother's alcoholism, studying locked up in a closet (which in a rich house translates to a whole whooping room, probably with windows too), wig snatching (le lol), calling out Vile Lyle's womanizing and party monster tendencies, theft (they themselves never mentioned this one, not even once), maybe pushing Sweet Prince Eric into dating out of fear of him being gay, — all that, and then spice it up with things that didn't happen. IMO, of course. We all are here only speculating.
But when Lyle's ex-girlfriend testified about researching for him about child abuse cases in families, — it rang my bell. Sure, he could have been doing it as a survivor... But also as a very meticulous person, that seeks to forge alibi for himself many months prior, just like he did with cinema tickets and restaurant.
Why would he ask to research something so intimate for him? Why would he randomly spout such accusation in front of mother's friend right when she (mother) threatens to write him out of will? Why he only got activated 2-3 months prior?
You know, what's funny. If ex-girlfriend lied and still took that engagement ring, — Kitty was right about her. If ex-girlfriend didn't lie and engagement ring was a ransom for silence, — mother was still right about his choice of women.
Pardon my long reply.

Why not? Changing will in front of a witness, — sounds about right. You know, just in case of certain someone decides to, I don't know... Delete it.
What is known, according to several sources, is that there was a reference to a will in the computer, located in an upstairs bedroom of the Menendez home. The reference to the will was contained in a file name on a computer disk. Shortly after the slayings, a member of the Menendez family discovered the reference and attempted to view the file, these sources said.
But the relative was unable to do so and made plans to hire a computer expert.
Before that expert could act, however, the file was deleted from the disk in such a way that it could not be recovered by police experts, according to those sources.
Asked about the possibility of a second will, the Menendezes’ probate attorney, Stephen B. Goldberg of Redondo Beach, said: “I don’t know anything about that and we’ve got a will and I don’t want any problems with it.”
Acting on Goldberg’s advice, the Menendez brothers have so far declined to comment on the computer mystery.
Their parents’ will has been filed in Santa Monica Superior Court and is expected to be settled early next year, according to Goldberg.
It states that Jose and Kitty Menendez bequeathed their estates to each other but, in the event that “we should die in a common disaster,” the entire estate is to be turned over to Lyle and Erik Menendez.

@gx9954 I think she was afraid that her oldest was turning into a carbon copy of his father, which is — spoiler alert — he totally was. "Succeed and surpass", — was drilled into his brain by "loving" dad since early childhood. We don’t even need to speculate about that, he says it himself. Lyle shows delight, when reminiscing how he was his dad's favorite. Mini Me essentially.
I do see, that their family was dysfunctional for years. Mother knew of their Dad's affairs; maybe not from the beginning, but eventually she found out, resorted to alcoholism. Family proceeded to exist on shaky basis. Kids grew up (at least in domineering parent's eye), father decided that it is time to move on, — it broke her. Sons, who mentally were still teens, despite whatever José was thinking about them, projected their parent's drama. Temporary Lyle became dad, Eric became mom, so too speak. Since their real mom took dad's side, at least in sons' eyes, — she was written off as affiliate of a fiend.
Lastly, but not the least, when Lyle and Eric got into real trouble (theft), — their dysfunctional father showed them by example how (not) to "deal with the law". Also hooked them up with venal shrink.
That enabled them completely: beloved dada, the idol, deals with problems this way.
From there they were just a ticking bomb.
Giving how in general cerebral Lyle was, trying to fit in his father's shoes, — you know he'd blow up big, turning his brother into affiliate and their mom into collateral damage (kinda like his father would).

@gx9954 Judging story you described, looks like whenever anyone in this family needs to talk from position of power, they channel their inner José. Obviously Kitty couldn't keep pretend for too long as she eventually slipped into hysteria. Alcohol for you, also long term untreated canned depression.
As for her therapy, looks like she was more comfortable talking about her own issues with the husband through a prism of Lyle and his relationships with women. Projecting all the way.
I still hold to my opinion, that she was in fact "collateral damage". I know utterly rotten parents exist, just don't see it in her, she was broken.
When sons talk about what José was doing, — there's a lot of genuine anger and pride; when they turn to Kitty, — confusion, sadness, deprivation, neglect. They know, that their basis for why the hell they did it to her, — is thin, so they resort to favorite song "Yeah, yeah, she's also pedo", — what to loose, right? Can't return mom anyway.

@gx9954 I was referring to her doing very peculiar research for Lyle, don't remember her testimony being disregarded by the judge, was it? Do remember vividly, attorney trying to shift attention from an actual subject to her being a gold-digger, hence I pointed out the irony of how Kitty was right about her all along. Same happened, when Eric's shrink testified, — attorney again tried to distract with irrelevant "wink-wink, he's a cheater". There's one valid point about the said shrink, though. He didn't go to the police right away, obviously wanted to blackmail Eric and his brother at first. His tapings, however, were the most important in proving premeditated murder, — which is the sole point of the whole ordeal, — to find out 1st degree or not. Turned out it was! The rest is circus.
