@Peyton Brimmer True but also when such jobs disappear it creates poverty and poverty creates, brings in gangs.

This was caused by greed, foreign competition, outsourcing of manufacturing, factory jobs and political corruption. Our cities that were once industrial mights have become giant ghettos as the result of it all.

I say Detroit is still worst after seeing all the clips of the many abandoned homes, schools, businesses and factories.

Some manufacturing jobs have been returning. Ford just opening up a new plant there in Michigan that'll create 3,000 new jobs. And not just jobs. Jobs that we can afford raising families and save for retire.

Detroit had a population of almost 2 million in the 1960's. Now it's under 700,000.

Also greed, foreign competition, outsourcing was the cause of it all along with political corruption.

California as a whole appears to be following a similar path, that is why so many are homeless and many fleeing the state.

What has happened to these once great cities are also the Signs of the Times: Greed and Corruption.

@DNutty26 Battle Creek too, the home of Kellogg's Cereal? Sounds like something has been happening to them too to cause that town to become a ghetto since I would think that thousands there work at Kellogg's.

Foreign competition, greed, political corruption and outsourcing of factory/manufacturing jobs was the cause of our cities that were once industrial mights to become giant ghettos plaqued with crime. The Industrial Belt (New Jersey to Wisconsin) became the 'Rust Belt'.

And he's been the one that is bringing back the jobs that have have once made these towns boom towns. Ford opening a plant there in Michigan and creating 3,000 jobs.

Yes, they have been coming back one by one. Ford I heard just opening up a new plant in Michigan to create 3,000 jobs. And not just jobs. Jobs that pay well ($30 - $40) an hour and able to raise families and save for retire. Not low paying jobs that pay between minimum wage to $15 an hour.
