The overall power grid in the U.S. is an aging grid system and has been given a "D" grade on the overall condition that makes it very vulnerable to terrorist attacks and solar flares, especially in the northern states and California where the grids are the oldest and gradually crumbling that makes it the most vulnerable. Powers grids in the South and interior west are not as old therefore makes it not quite as vulnerable as the older ones else where.
