  1. In California it is general practice if a patient has signed a DNR all forms of support are discontinued . Only sedation is provided. No nutrients, fluids, antibiotics, or oxygen. Most patients and families don’t realize this, they think they are just stating they don’t want to be put on a respirator or extremes taken. Not day to day support.
    2
