you mean cases as defined by a positive PCR test. so what’s your cycle threshold?

@FJTx100 our guys at the National Microbiology Lab in Winnipeg couldn’t culture virus from samples positive at over 24 cycles.

@rw2452 might be better if you looked up PCR yourself. in this point, starting with a very minuscule amount of DNA derived from a target strand of RNA, the Polymerase Chain Reaction begins to cycle, making a copy of the original DNA. another cycle and we have 4 copies., doubling every cycle until there is sufficient quantity of the target DNA to be detected. this point of detection, the cycle threshold is proportional to the amount of DNA in the sample. if it takes over 35 cycles to produce a positive, then there never was enough RNA present originally to represent a viable virus. note that this test does not test for virus, just a small fragment which could have come from a virus long gone. the culture thing is about trying to grow a virus in culture from the same sample used in the PCR test.

well. said. my wife looks at masking after vaccination protocols. obviously, one or more of these things don’t work.

@Thaumazo another paid shill huh. you need to take this up with the good doctors of the National Microbiology Lab in Winnipeg. ‘Predicting Infectious Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 From Diagnostic Samples’ “In conclusion, the SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 pandemic represents a dynamic situation where decisions and policy must be guided by evidence. Our study showed no positive viral cultures with a Ct > 24 or STT > 8 days. The odds of a positive culture were decreased by 32% for each unit increase in Ct. These data, if confirmed, may help guide isolation, contact tracing, and testing guidelines.”

@sierrapenner4805 it’s this kind of garbage that drives official policy. drives the models too - no wonder they never get them right
3
@soccerbitsandbytes9070 i wonder if they’ve been using 41 all the time or have they recently increased
3
@FJTx100 it’s not information our governments want out. i got 35-45 by looking at the test kits approved for use in BC
3
@Thaumazo here’s another for you to have a look at, which shows that although these people may have had the virus . . . . Viral RNA load as determined by cell culture as a management tool for discharge of SARS-CoV-2 patients from infectious disease wards Correlation between successful isolation of virus in cell culture and Ct value of quantitative RT-PCR targeting E gene suggests that patients with Ct above 33-34 using our RT-PCR system are not contagious and thus can be discharged from hospital care or strict confinement for non-hospitalized patients.

@FJTx100 the UK government has over 5000 people employed (up to 20,000 authorized) to address issues on social - which means anybody who post anything counter to the official script. i expect canada has the same, although i have read nothing official to that
3
@FJTx10 your comments must have touched on something the government really didn’t want out
3
@tenzinrigdol5936 might be all of that. could be that there is less vitamin D deficiency too

@m.t.1616 ah hah. explains everything. (what was the question again?)
