@fredmccready9940 I feel like it is better to give examples of how people's narratives don't match with reality than to call them fools.

@andrew30m My understanding is that the democratically elected person at the time, pineapple face because of some toxins that were thought to be an assassination attempt, read both the proposals of the EU and russia and was leaning toward the russian proposal.

As an american who sees glimpses of these state run news networks, I think they are equally misleading... Sky seems to be a bit less emotional. We also have a new 'minstry of truth' in the states. What I think is better about Sky is that it shows a map of Ukraine where the russians seem to have almost achieved their millatary objectives, althogught they don't have the outline of the DPR and LPR. But he characterizes everything they do as either evil or incopentent.

@erivers71 It is kind of weird... They show a map where russia has almost entirely liberated the donbas, which was what the 'special opperation' was about then they say russia can't seem to do anything right.
1
@roadent217 Yes...The russians may have to take westrn Ukraine.... And with the US shock and awe method... Which they have been reticent to emplloy.... The russians are being shelled from western Ukraine and the US is supplying weapons and training thousands of Ukraine and perahps others to use the integrated weopons systems that they are sending [at a rate more than russias yearly millatary budget] It is all very disaponiointing... The US economic goals, which is what it is about, won't even trickle down to the people of the US of which I am a member... .I think there is reason to believe that the accountents didn't look at the consequences of this conflict for the intersts that the US suports.

Nato is attempting to expand to the south china sea... Is nato a defencive alinance?
1
Much of the so called trench systems that the russians are putting up are trenches then huge concrete blocks... They are in long lines and very effective in keeping vehicles from going through them. Trenches like the ones that Nato has been building for years are in zig zag patterns where if one part of the trench is hit by artillary the other parts are safe..

@paulbrady4579 100K dead is terrible news. We need to quit killing people... ... Somehow it has become vogue all around the world to kill people... It needs to stop.
1
@rockrabbit253 They had videos of a strike on two Himars along with the extra rounds when they were setting up in Ukraine. Of course all Ukraine needs to do is get twenty times the altelery that they have been able to get in theatre there, along with copious amouts of technicians trained for years, again in theatre, to repell russain advances and re occupy the donbass region, which they occupied for eight years diggin in before they were repelled.
1
My impression is that much of the 'russian occupation' is natives defending their teritory from the coup goverment of Ukraine.
1
Archimosk was used as a place where they shelled Donsesk City for ten years.... The Russians are taking casualties and doing some uncharicteristic risks in that direction because they want to make the Donbass safe.
1
@dvsfreek Advikka's civillian shelling capiabillties have been destroyed and the Russians are going back to their defesive doctrine where they are using it as a trash compactor. The sad thing is the quanity of Ukrainians that they threw at places like this. Now they are throwing women GIs at the wall.
1
Meanwhile Mariopol MPs join the DPR... I am not sure they want to fight against nato as well.

@AndyM_323YYY Russia argues all the time about what is legal and what is not... It makes no sense because the only thing legal in international law is might makes right... By that measure what russia is doing is legal.
1
@AndyM_323YYY The US owns the Hague and they aren't subjected to any court.... They have been funding multiple millions of deaths, refugees and resource extraction since the fifties... and old school piracy as well as outright canceling of gold and dollar accounts... They have been arguing for what they call the 'rules based order' which is separate from what others call international law... How is it not 'might makes right'? How is it that the russians arguing what is legal and what is not sound silly?
1
@AndyM_323YYY "Conspiracy theory" only means theory or narrative... Example: it was considered a right wing conspiracy theory that trump was NOT installed by putin... That was when the left wing was saying without stopping that trump was installed by putin for years and they backed it up with both fabricated and tangential [impertinent] facts. It is better to take what I posit one at a time... As I remember I threw out a number of narratives.
1
@AndyM_323YYY Some narratives are yet to be realized and posited by others... Others are solid narratives... Bucha was said to be a ukrainain massacre according to Scott Ritter... As I am not a forensics expert, I defer to people who are familiar with it, like Scott Ritter.
1
@dennislions1 Maybe we shouldn't make matters worse by sanctions.... And justify those sanctions by fighting to the last Ukrainian... Other than on the battle field where ukraine is getting severely splayed, what the US is doing don't make a lot of sense to me.

@deriznohappehquite In the past it was considered capitalism to support the population with housing, education, healthcare, education, transportation for free or at reduced prices... It lowered the cost of living in so that the workers were able to support industry... Now it is considered socialism but is it really? It was replaced with the idea that only things that are OWNED by atomized people made any economic value at all and that collective efforts were not adding any economic value at all. That model, touted by reagan in the reagan revolution, is known as neoliberalism. What it lead to is a return to the new gentry owning everything and keeping the rest of the economy in debt to them as well as deindustrialization. A break from this form of central planning in the 18'th century was thought of at the time as freeing the market.... A return to it is actually feudalism.... It is the east, as in the east in the new cold war, is actually industrializing. Again that is what was formerly known as capitalism. This is the clash of civilizations of our time

@WinterXR7 Are either of these places of any stratigic significance?

If he were in ecenomnics he would get a nobel prize.

@Smithsj82 The russian generals know very much what is happening.... They are not part of the PR campaign that the west will continue regardless of the outcome... It is sad that so many GIs are dying... As if they don't have the right to live. Needless to say, the point of sending weapons is to prop up the US weapons market... The query is who would use those weapons in the future if there are so few Ukrainan GIs avalable to be slaughtered?
